Learn how to cook perfect bacon (never greasy or limp) with less mess. If you’ve always cooked bacon in a frying pan, but didn’t like the oil splatters everywhere, you’ll love this simple steps for cooking bacon in the oven!
When you wake up in the morning, sometimes the last thing you want to do is to take out the pan and splatter bacon oil everywhere. Here’s the quickest and easiest way I know how to cook bacon and I always do it right in the oven. This method also great for feeding a crowd since you can use 2 baking trays if you need to cook lots of bacon.
Four Easy Steps To Cook Perfect Bacon
Step #2: Place your bacon slices side by side (do not overlap) in the pan.
Step #3: Put it on the bottom rack of the oven. Set your oven temperature to 400 F and set the timer to 20 minutes. You don’t need to have it preheated.
REMEMBER: Don’t preheat the oven! Make sure the oven is cold when you put the bacon in.
A couple of tips while waiting for your bacon to cook: Turn on your oven light and check your bacon from time to time. All ovens are different so you want to make sure that you don’t overcook your bacon. You can also prepare a plate lined with paper towel so you can drain the oil off the bacon when it’s done.
Step #4: After the 20-minute mark, check your bacon. The bacon may not be fully cooked and crisped up yet. If this is the case add another 3 to 5 minutes until the bacon is golden brown, but not excessively crisp. The exact time will depend on the thickness of the bacon slices, and also on how quickly your oven reaches the target temperature. Remove the pan from the oven and transfer the bacon slices onto your napkin-lined plate.
And that’s it! Perfectly cooked bacon with less mess. It’s that easy!
The best part is the easy clean-up. Just roll your used parchment paper up and throw in the trash. No mess, no fuss bacon in 20 minutes!
